SELECTMEN’S MEETING

January 6, 2022

 

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan.  Also present:  CEO Duane Ford, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Superintendent of Schools Bob England, School Board Chairman Kelly Sanperi, Budget Committee member Susan Ford, by phone (Jerry Wetterskog, Jeffrey Roth, Budget Chairman Leslie Schneider).

 

Changed one word in the minutes of the last meeting.  Moved, seconded and voted to accept them as amended.

 

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $116,851.98:clearing.m/v $967.75, clearing, i/f $309, clearing, h/f $581, clearing, animal welfare $92; animal control $250; administration $8,597.42; fire protection $666.67; school $69016.25; general assistance $2,647.64; town office repair $414.25; snow $33,000; fees 132.

 

CEO REPORT:  Reviewing shoreland zoning ordinance changes from the state ordinance which was adopted a few years ago, a letter to DEP’s Dawn Hurd listing the changes will be sent.  The Planning Board will meet Tuesday, they are trying to be pro-active in several areas,; paperwork is under control and everything seems to be going ok.

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS:  1)  Superintendent /School Board:  Superintendent explained that the figures are not in from the state, the audit is waiting for figures, and the budget is waiting for numbers.  It is very difficult to do a budget when the numbers are estimates.  GSA is asking for $1,700 more in tuition than the state rate for this coming year; the state rate just came in.

2)  Any Unresolves Business:  None

3) Municipal Budget Workshop – muni:  Postponed workshop until next week.  Will take papers home and review them.

ASSISTANT’S REPORT:  Working on budget figures and Town Report.
