Selectmen’s Meeting

September 18, 2007

Tuesday 3:30PM

Selectmen present:  Chairman, Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor.

Other participants:  Linda Long, Doug McMillan and Barbara Grindle of the Town House committee, Debbie Knight of Dept. of Economic and Community Development.

1. Approved the minutes of the September 13, 2007, selectmen’s meeting.

2. Ms Knight discussed the procedure and requirements for the town to apply for a community development block grant, to add a building at the site of the historic town house.  It was agreed that the work needed to be done would preclude applying by the December 31, 2007 date for 2008 money.  The earliest the town could apply would be in 2008 for 2009 money and only after voter approval.

3. Approved 8 abatements in the amount to $2,552.92 and 3 supplemental tax bills in the amount of $1,271.97.  The adjustments were due to assessing errors.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:15PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom O'Connor, Selectman
