Selectmen’s Meeting, Tues., Jun. 19, 2007

Town of Sedgwick Maine

Selectmen’s Meeting

June 19, 2007  Tuesday  3:30PM

Selectmen present; Chairman Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants;  School superintendent Bob Webster, Access committee members Barbara Grindle, Neil Davis, Basil Bowden, Emily Webb and Diane Kornmeir,   and planning board chairman Palmer Little.

  1. Approved the minutes of the June 14, 2007 selectmen’s meeting.

  1. Superintendent Webster reports that there will be no need for a special town meeting to rectify the school budget.  He states that the state has indicated that the town’s subsidy will not be penalized because that town did not have the state figures at the time of our town meeting in March.

  1. Selectmen informed Mr. Little that they had consulted the town attorney concerning the planning board’s stance on the Larson cottage on Walker pond.  Mr. Little had wanted the selectmen to intervene in the appeals board decision granting the work at the cottage.  The attorney states that he will need to represent the planning board and not the selectmen in the matter.  Mr. Little will schedule a meeting with attorney Jim Patterson to chart a course of action.

  1. Selectmen set the date of the special town meeting concerning our access to walker pond for July 18, 2007 at 7:00PM.  Members of the access committee will make a presentation at the meeting and discussed a few things that need to be completed before the meeting date.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:30PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom O'Connor  Third Selectman
