SELECTMEN’S MEETING

April 28, 2022

 

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Colby Pert, Michael Sheahan.  Also present:  CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, (by phone Jerry Wetterskog).

 

There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 2-0 (Sheahan abstained) to approve them as written.

 

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $91,401.18:  general assistance $452; administration $215.81; education $90,733.37.

 

CEO REPORT:  Not too much going on this week, a Walker Pond group has been working and cleaning up; a home on Oak Lane has a building notification to remove a single mobile home and replace it with a double wide one; Carter Point shed needs a building notification form; another putting in a septic field replacement and need a state permit; a building notification form needed for a home behind Kane’s junkyard; inspected Strong Brewing re the liquor and amusement permits, signed the permit and gave them a copy; Mariner’s Pub waiting for a soil evaluation.

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS:  1)  4/29 Referendum Logistics – With Clerk unavailable for referendum, a warden has been found, appointment papers for ballots clerks signed, and the heat will be on, everything ready.

2)  Unresolved Business –  a)  Suggested that the Climate Resilience Partnership program be presented to the Planning Board.  Pert will act as liasion for the select board.

c)  The GSA Budget Review Committee met here Tuesday and selected a secretary and chairman.  They will meet again as soon as GSA has the budget for them to review.

 

ACTION ITEMS:  None

 

ASSISTANT’S REPORT:  Sent the annual town report to the printers Monday.  They will do the dates as soon as we have them.  A draft will be sent for final review before printing.

 

ADJOURN:  Moved, seconded and voted to adjourn before the public hearing at 7 p.m.  Adjourned the regular meeting at 6:40 p.m.

 

OPENED the Public Hearing for Strong Brewery’s liquor license at 7 p.m.  Closed the public hearing at 7:37 p.m.
