SELECTMEN’S MEETING
January 12, 2017
Opened the meeting at 5:40 p.m.and established a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Neil Davis, Colby Pert. Also present: Sheriff Scott Kane, Robert Jones, Bob Publicover, Superintendent Chris Elkington, Elizabeth True, Road Commissioner Paul Carter, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, Garry Schneider, Budget committee members Leslie Schneider, Horace Wardwell, Bob Comerford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading the minutes from last week and accept them as written.
TREASURER’S WARRANT: Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $6,873.28; general assistance $400, road salt $3,826.40, fire department $1,509.95 were some of the bills.
OLD BUSINESS: Superintendent Elkington and school board member True presented a draft of the school budget. They are still working on it and hope that there can be further cuts. Will present the final budget to the selectmen and budget committee in two weeks.
Budget committee reviewed the budget and will return for the school budget in two weeks.
NEW BUSINESS: Sheriff Kane discussed a draft proposal to help with animal control based on a program in Lincoln County.
Road Commissioner discussed his budget and special projects for the coming year.
Approved the use of the Town House for a domestic violence self-defense class to benefit women in the area.
CEO REPORT: CEO not present.
ADJOURN: There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m.
