TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
December 1, 2016

Opened the meeting at 6:07 p.m. and declared a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Neil Davis, Colby Pert.  Also present:  Bob Publicover, Don Buckingham, Chris Elkington, Susan Ford, Tax Collector Elizabeth Gray, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading of last meeting’s minutes and accept them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $40,407.19;3rd payment of the snow contract $28,571.43, salaries of $8,805.85 and taxes of $683.29 accounted for most of the warrant.

Superintendent Elkington, Principal Buckingham and School Board Chairman Ford presented an explanation of the Union budget.  Changes will be occurring with the retirement of Buckingham and discussion is being held on hiring a chief educational officer to handle the administrative matters and  or/a business manager to assist him/her.  Elkington and Ford will be back next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to report on the Union budget meeting being held Monday.

CEO REPORT:  Prowling around, checking building and septic projects.  Reminding all taxpayers:  If you are building, replacing or changing things on your property you may need a building notification permit.  It is only $5. There could be a fine of $10 – $100 per day if you do not have one!

ADJOURN:  Due to the lateness of the meeting, it was moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting and take up the budget at the next meeting.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
