Selectmen’s Meeting

January 17, 2008  Thursday  6:30PM

  Selectmen present:  Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants:  Budget committee members Steve Toby and Bill Donnell.Town House building committee members Linda Long, Barbara Grindle .Dick Doane and Doug McMillan.   Fire chief David Carter and Town Clerk/Treasurer Cindy Reilly. 

  1. Approved the minutes of the January 15, 2008 selectman’s meeting.

 

  1. Approved the treasurer’s warrant (#29) in the amount of $15,098.99.

 

  1. Selectmen and budget committee members reviewed warrant articles and the Budget committee made their recommendations concerning spending articles.  Chief Carter also presented the Fire Department budget to the committee and it was approved as presented.

 

  1. The Town House building committee presented a plan to construct a men’s and woman’s toilet facility at the Town House.  The build would be under 400 Sq. Ft. and be built approximately where the old vault is currently located, detached from the existing building.  The building would have water, heat and would be handicap accessible.  The total design and construction cost is estimated at less that $80,000 and a Community Development Block Grant is available for 75% of the cost.  Voters would have to approve the town’s share at the upcoming town meeting.

 The meeting was adjourned at 9:20PM.
