SELECTMEN’S MEETING

October 16, 2014

 

The meeting was opened at 5:45 pm and it was established a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Victor Smith, Nelson Grindal, Neil Davis.   Also present:  CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Patricia Gross, Robert Jones, the Marvin Gray family.

 

            Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

 

            No treasurer’s warrant available.

 

            TAX COLLECTOR, TREASURER, CLERK REPORTS:  Treasurer has been collecting taxes and registering vehicles, in addition to treasurer’s work and clerk’s work.  In addition, the treasurer is also the registrar for the November election.  Selectmen forgave her for not having the treasurer’s warrant ready.  She was given permission to pay the bills that required prompt payment, and to have the rest on next week’s warrant.  She was also given permission to pay the new tax collector for the rest of this month.

 

            PUBLIC BUSINESS:  The Gray family have inquired about an heirship property and how to clear the title to it.  Selectmen will work with the family on the foreclosed property as soon as they can get the title.

 

            OLD BUSINESS:  There was no old business.

 

            NEW BUSINESS:  Clerk swore in the new tax collector.  Patricia Gross will be taking the training for the motor vehicle registrations on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 21, and 22, and will be in the office to start her new job on Thursday, October 23.  Her hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday   8:30 am – 3,  Thursday   noon to 7 pm.

 

            CEO REPORT:  Ford had photos of the Salt Pond property that may be in violation of several shoreland zoning issues.  He will talk with them about correcting them.

 

            ADJOURN:  Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn at 6:50 pm.
