Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Others present: Pam Spencer, Tax Collector Elizabeth Gray, Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.
There being no errors or omissions in the minutes of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to accept the minutes as written.
Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $68,474.71; RJD Appraisers $2,970, insurance for volunteers $86, election officers $$890, sludge $180, school $61744.13, general assistance $404.59, mowing Town house and town office $190, motor vehicle registrations $1,732.30 excise tax refund $57.60, fees $158.
NEW BUSINESS: Primary results – quite a lot of confusion with the new changes in voting.
Graytown residence – has been foreclosed on and is an eyesore and safety issue. Checking on heirs.
PERC/MRC – Astbury will attend next transfer station meeting. Our trash has been approved to go to PERC, but at a large cost.
Pertville Road and Walker Pond Access Road newly tarred.
Approved volunteer accident insurance when on town business from MMA.
Publicover attended the Broadband meeting on Swans Island. Will continue to be involved.
Spencer had some questions about meeting places and planning board processes. She’s been away and wanted information on some things that have happened while she was gone.
OLD BUSINESS: Marijuana legislation – authorized Sheahan to check our options with the town’s legal counsel. Do we need an informational meeting? Should we vote on the 4 issues individually?
Trying to get Access committee together.
Bulletin board for the Town Dock and another for the Town Office will be built by Colby Pert.
Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to approve the agreed value for the fire truck insurance and to drop the insurance on the ’77 Chevy truck that is being retired.
Selectmen will be attending the official’s workshop given by MMA on Tuesday in Ellsworth.
ASSISTANT’S STUFF – Clerk and assistant have researched Budget Committee history. In 1935 the budget committee was to be made up of 5 members. The state and MMA do not have any regulations regarding the number of members on the committee.
Publicover will write an ad for the CEO position to be posted in the Weekly Packet and the Ellsworth American. The job application process will close on July 19 at 5 p. m.

Correction – Minutes of 6/7 – CEO Ford is not looking for an assistant, he is intending to resign from his position as Code Enforcement Officer due to being too busy with other work.
