Selectmen’s minutes, Tues, Apr. 3, 2007

Town of Sedgwick Maine

Selectmen’s Meeting

April 3, 2007  Tuesday  3:30PM

Selectmen present:  Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor. Other participants:  Adm. Assistant Barbara Grindle and Code Enforcement Officer Duane Ford.

  1. Approved the minutes of the March 29, 2007 selectmen’s meeting.

  1. Selectmen and the CEO began work on updating the town’s shore land zoning ordinance.  The state of Maine is requiring all towns and cities to bring their ordinance into compliance with state requirements.  If left unchanged the state will mandate an ordinance of their choosing.  Selectmen decided to stay basically with the model ordinance with a few exceptions, one being that Sedgwick will retain the 30% expansion rule with regard to rebuilding shore land buildings.

  1. Selectmen approved and signed numerous appointments to the town’s boards and offices including:  Duane Ford as CEO, David Carter as fire chief, Royce Varnum and Clarence Allen as Assistant fire chief.  Royce Varnum as Civil preparedness officer, Tom Schroth and Paul Trowbridge to the Budget committee.  Tom Schroth and Fred Marston to the Board of appeals. Robert Gross to animal control officer, David Webb and Victor Smith to the planning board and Cindy Reilly as registrar of voters.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:40PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom O'Connor   Selectman
