6:30PM
Selectmen present: Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger and Tom O'Connor.
Other participants: Selectmen’s assistant Barbara Grindle, Clerk/Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Andy Gray, Dr. George Wilgram, and Bettie Britt of the Weekly Packet.
- Approved the minutes of the October 14, 2008 selectmen’s meeting.
- Dr. Wilgram relayed the feelings of the Friends of Walker Pond organization that the citizens of Sedgwick and Brooklyn should have access to the pond at the Town owned property. Their only concern is allowing out of town boats at the purposed boat launch.
- Reviewed and approved the Treasurers warrant (#16) in the amount of $163,438.63. $139,457.23 of that amount was for school expenses.
- Selectmen reviewed the two agreements that will establish a joint partnership between Sedgwick and Brooksville to develop the 28 acre property on Walker Pond. The first document is a inter local agreement which spells out the rights and responsibilities of the two towns concerning the management of the property. This document once signed by the selectmen of both towns will be presented at a special town meeting for voter approval. The second document is an Escrow agreement which spells out the transfer of money paid by Brooksville for their 50% share of the property. Both documents are the result of several months of negotiations on the part of the two towns and represent the best interest of its citizens.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15PM
Respectfully submitted,
Tom
