Selectmen’s Minutes October 3, 2013

TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
October 3, 2013

Opened the meeting and established a quorum at 6 pm.  Selectmen present:  Neil Davis, Victor Smith.
Also present:  Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Robert Jones

Read and approved the minutes of September 26.

Signed the Treasurer’s warrant for $82,689.91; school expenses are $61,707.61, reassessment installment $8,300, town office electricity $868.58 and salaries $7,066.70.

OLD BUSINESS: Nothing has been heard from the computer guy.  Davis will call him and will also check with Premium Choice about the internet access for the office since they have a new box on the cell tower on Caterpillar Hill.
Haskell Electric has been in and installed four new plugs inside and a flagpole light outside.
Suggested having the office open for business five days a week, at least in the afternoon.
Deadline for the grant’s letter of intent is January 17, 2014.
The assessing agents are working every day to try to get the work done before the weather turns cold.
Put a suggested price on the Polka Valley property.  Davis to negotiate with G.M. Allen.
The special town meeting is set for October 24 at the Town Office at 6:30 pm.

NEW BUSINESS: Nichols Day Camp has asked to put a link to their website on the town’s website.  Selectmen approved. Clerk will have the webmaster set it up.   Discussion about linking other sites in town ensued and Cindy will discuss these with the webmaster as well.  The school has its own site.
CEO REPORT:  There has been a complaint about some cutting and clearing work on the shore.  An addition will be brought to the Planning Board for an addition in the Shoreland Zone.  The Premium Choice transmitter will be taken up by the Planning Board.  He has also consulted with a landowner and forester about cutting on a 40-acre lot in Sargentville.  The CEO will also be putting together a memo for the Planning Board regarding status of Ordinances for the Planning Board meeting on October 8.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:03 pm.
