TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Selectmen present:  Nelson Grindal, Bill Jagger

Also present:  Assistant Barbara Grindle

1)                  Discussed minutes from Tuesday meeting.  No notes taken by selectmen, no business conducted.        2)                  Barbara received photos of Punch Bowl Farm barn when it was standing.  They will be added to her collection of old photos of Sedgwick and Sargentville.  Reminding people that if they have old photos or postcards, we would love to be able to copy they for our archive collection.  Come in and see some on the walls.   3)                  Signed the treasurers warrant for $6,067.88.  $2,410 is for care and maintenance for veteran graves in the various cemeteries.  (We have a list of 241 veterans, if you have a veteran in your family and he/she does not have a flag, please call the town office and one will be provided.)  Every veteran is to have a flag and the grave is to be cared for according to federal law.  In Sedgwick the cemeteries are cared for and maintained by associations, but the town is required to provide the flag and money to care for the grave.  Barbara keeps records of each cemetery and the occupants thereof.

Meeting was adjourned at 8 pm.

                                    Respectfully submitted,

                                    Barbara Grindle, Assistant
