SELECTMEN’S MEETING

February 3, 2011

 Selectmen present:  Nelson Grindal, Colby Pert, Victor Smith Also present:   Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Tax Collector Belinda Pert, Assistant Barbara Grindle. Paul Trowbridge, Packet reporter Bette Britt, director and treasurer of the Blue Hill Library. 1)         Minutes of the last meeting read and accepted. 2)         Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $153,660.34.   $131028.44 was for school expenses. 3)         Discussed contents to be included in the snow removal contract. 4)         Trowbridge was in discussing his discontent with the wind tower ordinance.   He is a member of the committee drawing up the ordinance and has written a letter expressing views that he believes were not addressed adequately by the committee.   5)         Blue Hill Library’s director brought in a petition with 74 signatures requesting that the Library receive the whole amount asked for, which was $3,600.  The petition means that the warrant article will ask the town to give them that amount.   6)         As a result of the petition presented by the Blue Hill Library, the selectmen have withdrawn the warrant article requesting $2,000 to start an escrow account for a Sedgwick Library Reserve. 7)         Checked several articles to appropriate from surplus rather than raising the money for them. 8)         Also need to have an article in the warrant to cover an overdraft in the Fire Department budget of $157.43. 9)         The selectmen will be in the office Monday afternoon for the purpose of finalizing the Town Report.  It will be taken to the printers as soon as it is finalized. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 pm.                                                 Victor Smith, 3rd Selectman
