SELECTMEN’S MEETING
November 18, 2021

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle, Christine diPretoro, Peggy Newbury, Kenneth Thompson, Terry Pert, (by phone Jerry Wetterskog).

There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to approve them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $5,385.83: fees $122; clearing;m/v $3,029.56; administration $$2,064.27, town office $130; town house $40.

CEO REPORT: paperwork with Verizon going well, a Snow’s Cove property needs a permit for a septic system; the broker for a Walker Pond property cautioned about wet land on property, will need a DEP permit, not a town one, best to move location back to avoid wetlands.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: 1) Thanksgiving week schedule – Astbury will not be here, Sheahan and Publicover will be in at 6 to sign the warrant.
2) Borrego Update – DEP decommissioning permit approved by the state. Sedgwick residents will be able to purchase solar power from a Borrego community solar project at a discount of 15% off the standard offer.
3) Any Unresolved Business – a) The licensing agreement for the transfer station is approaching for approval by the Blue Hill/Surry board’s attorney.
b) Pertville dog situation, town attorney still collecting information, will inform dog owners when the investigation is complete.
c) The broadband organization papers have been sent to the state for approval.
d) Two thank you letters from last year’s donation recipients.
f) Letter from RJD Appraisers tabled for two weeks for discussion after the holiday.

ASSISTANT’S REPORT: Working on Town Report. Informing companies that wish donations for next year to get the forms from the town website and send them in to the office for the Budget Committee.

PUBLIC COMMENTS: Newbury came to ask where her dog is and to find out where the investigation is going. Told that she will be contacted with information as soon as possible.
DiPretoro asked about the comparison of the standard offer from the power company versus the Borrego solar offer. The solar will offer a discount of 15% from the standard offer..
Wetterskog wished everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving”.
