TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
May 9, 2019

Opened the meeting and declared a quorum present. Selectmen present: Ben Astbury, Michael Sheahan. Also present: Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Frank Tracy, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

There being no errors or omissions in the records of the last meeting, moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to approve them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $10,346.67; Clearing/MV $4,716.60, fees $138, administration $191.01, fire department $885.67, town office $299.98, general assistance $783.51, veteran’s graves $3,144.90.

CEO REPORT: Busy this afternoon with septic systems, steps to the shore, and building notifications. Discussed the need for some changes in the building notification forms and who is responsible to make the changes. Town attorney asked where the copy of the consent letter was; it was sent to him for review last Thursday.

DISCUSSION ITEMS: Roadside cleanup. Small turnout to pick up a long distance, and an area that hasn’t been cleaned for a very long time. Disposed of 2,000 pounds of junk. Perhaps next year there will be more volunteers, it is going to take several years to really clean 8 miles of Route 15, which has been neglected for such a long time. This is the first year for Sedgwick’s participation. Many thanks to those who worked.
General Assistance Notice: Much paperwork needs to be incorporated into the application process. A letter of compliance will be sent to DHHS. An emergency contact number must be added to the notice. Appointments must be made for Tuesday afternoons. Call the town office at 359-2275.
Notified the treasurer to start the foreclosure process of tax acquired property.
Approved 2-0 to hire Kim Allen to mow the town office and the town house lawns at $90 per mowing.

ADJOURN: There being no further business, moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Grindle, Assistant
