SELECTMEN’S MEETING

December 9, 2021

 

Opened the meeting and established a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, Michael Sheahan.  Also present:  Clerk/treasurer Cindy Reilly, CEO Duane Ford, Jerry Wetterskog (by phone Christine diPretoro, Jeffrey Roth, Assistant Barbara Grindle).

 

There being a spelling error and a clarification phrase added, moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to approve the minutes as amended.

 

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant.

 

CEO REPORT:  Two major jobs this week:  1)  Contacted by Protec, the engineering and construction company that will be constructing the Caterpillar Hill project for Borrego about the process for acquiring necessary permits;  2)  Verizon has sent the application and fee of $2,500 and it was received today.  There will be more paperwork for more information, but they are being very cooperative.  The rest of the week has been plumbing, and paperwork on the Black’s Pond problem, the owner needs to be aware that nothing is going to happen quickly.  The  building that has to be moved is on a concrete pad, which also has to be moved.

 

DISCUSSION ITEMS:  1) Resignation letter – Tax Collector:  Her last day will be January 6, 2022.  Because it is an elected position, selectmen do not need to accept the letter, just acknowledge it.

2)  Review Proposed Remote Meeting Policy:  Astbury has a printed version of the draft policy, do others have suggestions?  There will be a Public Hearing at the Town Office on December 16 at 7 p.m.  Clerk will post hearing.  If wording is approved at the hearing, the policy will be finalized and will go into effect immediately.

3)  Any Unresolved Business:  None

 

ACTION ITEMS:  None.

 

ASSISTANT’S REPORT:  Assistant is home with a cold, attending via freeconferencecall, Covid test was negative.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS:  None.
