Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee minutes, September 2019

Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee

Minutes for September 12, 2019

Meeting opened at 5:45pm. Adjourned at 6:25pm. Members present: Michael Sheahan, Ben Astbury, Bob Publicover, John Gray. Also present: John Kimball, Kathy Flood

Actions Taken:

Motion to accept minutes of the August 8th meeting as written. All in favor.

Discussion:

No expiration noted on application for the permit by rule for rock removal. Ben will call Andrew to confirm.

Courtesy boat inspection has been going well. Margaret Hardy returned to fill in the gap in coverage and has expressed interested in returning next year.

John Gray: We need to address the vegetation growing up on the side of the road. Some tree trimming and mowing is needed.

Paving has held up after quality issues were addressed. Shoulders still need work. Sedgwick will remind Paul Carter this needs to be done.

Ben: Should we include plowing access to Walker Pond in a new plowing arrangement in effect in 2020/21? Paul Carter will continue to plow this year.   All agree this is a good approach.

Boat inspection will continue until Columbus Day weekend.

Whenever it looks like the swim floats can be removed, we will contact Billy.

Kathy Flood: Looks like a beaver dam is being built in the bridge vicinity, and the path to the swimming area needs additional material.

There has been flooding in this area and the bridge and path may need to be raised.

Will have to check with Andrew about the necessity of permitting for this.

Kathy Flood: There’s a covered trailer with New York plates sitting in the upper parking lot without a vehicle attached.

Ben: Should contact the warden’s service if it becomes an issue.
