Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee minutes, August 2021

Sedgwick-Brooksville Town Landing Committee minutes for August 11, 2021

Meeting opened at 9:15 a.m. Adjourned at 9:52 a.m.

Members present: Michael Sheahan, Bob Publicover, John Gray, Hal Snow, Richard Bakeman, John Kimball.

Actions taken: Motion to accept minutes of the July 14, 2021 meeting. All in favor.

Motion to adjourn at 9:49 a.m. All in favor.

Discussion: High rainfall has raised concerns over water level. The alewife committee is working on a process to regulate water level for the benefit of landowners, fish and the ecology of the pond. Gunnar  and Kathy Limeburner are taking on water level regulation as a project.

John Gray filled two holes with cold patch. There are cracks in the pavement in need of sealing before the situation worsens.   Brooksville will call a crack sealing company for an estimate.

In consultation with the DEP the downed trees at the beach can be cut, but the stumps can’t be removed.   Should be done in the off season in case there are issues with the stumps falling into place.

John Kimball: Need to send a thank you letter to the FWP for the $3000. Will send a notice to the Weekly Packet announcing the donation for courtesy boat inspection.

John Kimball will get together with someone from the alewife committee and also the Friends of Walker Pond to discuss the water level concerns.
