MINUTES

Thursday, May 28, 2026

 

Opened the meeting and established a quorum: S. Ford, B. Duffy and D. Carter Present. D. Ford, S. Shaffer, K. Stark, J. Franklin , B. Sherwell, S. Webb and D. Kornmeier all in attendance A. Varney, L. Dow, J. Wetterskog online. 

 

Motion and 2nd to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Approved 2-0 with no correction. 

 

Avery Varney called in to discuss grants for a generator for the Town Office with solar and battery back up. The deadline is June 5th. Information will be sent over to the Select Board to review. 

DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS:

  1. Talked with Ben Astbury about the road speed signs. Have not agreed upon a specific time or palace. Thinking about putting it near the post office. 
  2. There will be a hearing on June 11th for Lobster lady and Roaring Lion for their Liquor Licenses. They have already been posted in the paper. 
  3. Rita Martynowski the new treasurer will start on June 10th, 2026. She is expected to come in before June 10th to shadow Amy, the current treasurer, for a few days. 
  4. There is an error in the town report. Unfortunately it will not be able to be fixed where it is already at the printers. The error lies within the Town Warrant. It states “ Raise or Appropriate” but it is supposed to say “ Raise  and appropriate.” The Town will be providing corrected copies of the warrant in every town report.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

  1. Recommendation for Town Manager 
  2. The public asked about the garden here at the Town Office. Someone used to come tend to the garden for free. If Anyone who has the time and wants to plant bulbs and make the Garden look nice again anyone is more than welcome to do so.
