Open the meeting and establish a quorum:
Read and approve the minutes of the last meeting: Meeting min 8/28 motion and 2nd to approve 2-0 9/4 minutes tabled.
Review and Sign Treasurer’s warrant:
CEO REPORT: Royce Varnum looking to put an addition on camp at Black’s Pond. Good enough set back. Duane will monitor for permit triggers. Adrian Smith has put in foundation and septic on updated permit. Duane keeping an eye on Shore Rd- the old canning factory being moved. Foundation work being done on the water and the building will need to be moved back. The neighbor will be having them do work on his DEP permit. Townsend lot- asphalt remediation being done under extensive NRFA permit. Duane, monitoring the Glampground, will need to go over the plumbing. Across the road D. Brown has put a shed in for the use of a flower shop. Working on the assumption it’s commercial and he must go before the planning board. West Sedgwick- across from C&G there is a large pad being put in for a horse stable. Castine River Estates- monitoring the extensive activity going on. No information on the books for what’s going on. Duane will be looking into this.
FIRE CHIEF: Pump test on Tuesday passed with flying colors. Need a pump control over 3k but can install it themselves. The department will try to repair before purchasing a new one. They are still able to pump. Fire assist at coop 2 in Stonington for electrical fire. David received a couple of calls about smoke on Pertville Rd. It’s very dry outside. Still in no burn-
DISCUSSION and/or ACTION ITEMS:
(1) Comprehensive Plan Meeting review: Meeting was held on Tuesday 9/9. Voters approved accepting the final draft. It is available online and hard copy in the office. Susan thanked the committee and especially Jerry for their hard work and dedication to the project.
(2) New Phones and Training: New phones installed and running. Lyndsey will be recording the greeting. She will send correspondence to let people know that things will sound different when they call in. Going forward we will be using Google meets for online meetings.
(3) Tax Bills/Letters: Tax Bills have been printed and prepared for mailing and have started going out. The rest will be going out by the end of day Friday 9/12.
(4) November Election: The state has said that we can no longer hold state elections at the town house. Lyndsey coordinated with David the setup of the meeting room. Motion and 2nd to approve Lyndsey to purchase handicap signs and voting booths for November. 2-0 approved.
UNRESOLVED BUSINESS:
Flags- Dan has not discussed with the contact at versant- he will follow up and get the ball rolling. Dan has offered to install once we get permission.
