CEO Report
Duane visited this the Barrett property on the Doe Circle Cul de sac, did not notice a smell. Will be keeping an eye on the situation as multiple neighbors have complained, and letting the assessor know to that there is a structure there now, and that it needs to be reassessed for taxes. Duane has been to the Anderson property on Fox Run; the system has been installed and ready to be covered over. All looks good. The Glamp Ground construction is underway and there are now 4 frames up which are going to be the geodesic domes. Duane will need to go through all the plumbing permits before signing off on those. Duane has still been in contact with Joyce Anderson about her property, and she’s unsure what she is going to do at this point. Duane verified new construction on Walkers Pond. Property on Frank’s flat- received a permit a while back but the plan seems to have changed. Septic issues at 157 Carter Point Road. There is a new system being installed. The town’s involvement will be handled cautiously as this may go to litigation from non-disclosures from the previous owners.
Discussion and/or Action Items-
- Reese Jones Forestry Plan- Lyndsey was asked by our assessor, Matt to discuss with the board the situation with 89 Jones Ridge Lane. Mr. Jones is attempting to sell a portion of his land. We have been taxing it as if it has been in tree growth, however, Mr. Jones’ forestry plan has expired. After much discussion the board decided to give Mr. Jones until December 2025 to renew his forestry plan. If he does not, then he will be charged the full penalty under the law.
- Alan Kratz- Alan came to discuss with the board the Blue Hill Peninsula Community Wildfire Protection plan and to authorize the Town of Brooksville, as fiscal agent, to execute the attached contract and to authorize SWCA to begin work on July 1, 2025. Motion and 2nd to have Susan sign the form as chair. 3-0 approved. He also gave the board information regarding a loan fund project the state is putting out for towns to submit potential project towns may need to have additional funding for to complete, with low interest rates. The first phase is to brainstorm such projects and submit to the agency by July 25th.
- Walker Pond Road Repair-There will be more information in the minutes from the Walker Pond committee regarding specific numbers, but both Brooksville and Sedgwick agree to split the cost of repairs evenly. The total cost being around $53,000.00. No timeline on this yet. Will vote on at the next Walker Pond meeting.
- Tarring Section of Old Dump Rd- Old County rd. Paul has been involved in a few projects this spring and lots of work getting done. He has found an outfit that will repair ½ mile of road and would like to lock in the price with them before it goes up. Motion and 2nd to authorize Paul to contact the paving company with the best price and lock it in. Total around 75,000. 3-0 approved. Will be awaiting LRAP money to offset some of the paving costs.
- ROW on Ferry Landing Rd- Paul would like to know where to put the signs on Ferry Landing Road. Jerry offered to meet with Paul to show him. Barry will contact Paul to coordinate with Jerry.
Other Business-
-Jerry has been very active in lots of town projects including the comp plan and the planning board. He is feeling like he’d like to take a step back and is choosing to give up his seat on the Climate Resilience Committee. He has let them know. The board recognized all of Jerry’s hard work and understands his position at this time.
– Brief check in regarding Deputy clerk training/duties. The board will ask that Sarbina attend the next meeting to meet with them privately.
Adjourn-
Motion and 2nd to adjourn. 3-0 at 7:12pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Lyndsey Dow
