TOWN OF SEDGWICK
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
October 6, 2016

Opened the meeting at 6:03 p.m. and established a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Neil Davis, Colby Pert.  Also present:  Robert Jones, Bob Publicover, Tax Collector Elizabeth Gray, Fire Chief David Carter, CEO Duane Ford, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

Moved, seconded and voted 3-0 to dispense with reading of the minutes from last week and accept them as written.

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $44,837.40; Snow payment #1 to Webb’s Excavating $28,571.43, administration and salaries $10,186.85, fire department expenses $3,787.43, general assistance $595.53, town dock and town office $153.66.

OLD BUSINESS:  Town dock meeting held at the dock Friday, Sept. 30. Discussed the project with the contractor Skip Eaton and a project manager Brian Burgess, architect Andrew McCullough, DOT project supervisor Jenn Paul, selectmen Davis and Pert, harbormaster Bill Grant and assistant harbormaster Duane Ford and several harbor committee members.  The project is waiting for delivery of supplies and should begin about Oct. 20.

Selectmen discussed the straw poll questions to be presented to the voters at the November election.

Also discussed job expectations for town employees in several areas including animal control, fire department, code enforcement and other areas of town government.

NEW BUSINESS:  Public hearing for the annual General Assistance Appendix changes set for next Thursday, October 13 at 7 p.m. at the selectmen’s office.

CEO REPORT:  Fielding a mix of calls, land for sale, questions about a mobile home park in W. Sedgwick, clarifying use of properties, including a pavilion. Dealing with an illegally cut tree on Carter Point which must be replaced with another equally desirable tree.  Also attending classes and workshops.

ADJOURN:  There being no further business, the motion was made, seconded and voted 3-0 to adjourn the meeting at 7:38 p.m.
