SELECTMEN’S MEETING

March 14, 2013

 Selectmen present:  Neil Davis, Nelson Grindal, Victor Smith

 Also present:  Tax Collector Belinda Pert, CEO Edward Michaels, Assistant Barbara Grindle

 1)         Minutes of the last meeting read and approved.

 2)         Signed the treasurer’s warrant for $53,98.96; more road salt for $1,916.79, one hundred thirty eight 30-day notices from the tax collector $1,257.18. 

 3)         2nd Selectman Grindal has a copy of the new regulations for concealed weapons permits.  Permits will be granted to those with positive mental reports, a police background check, military or ex-military proof or as a renewal.  If an applicant does not have any of these, he or she must have a handgun safety course certificate issued within the last 5 years.  The background check and mental reports will be necessary for everyone applying.

 4)         Moved and seconded to accept the new regulations for concealed weapons permits because they are state regulations.  Vote was 3-0 to accept.

 5)         CEO Michaels reported on Planning Board procedures.

 6)         Smith made a motion to go into executive session to discuss salaries.  Voted 3-0 to do so.  Entered executive session at 6:50 pm.

 7)         Returned from executive session at 7:40 pm, where job descriptions and salaries had been discussed.  No action was taken.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:47 pm.
