TOWN OF SEDGWICK

SELECTMEN’S MEETING

August 27, 2015

 

Opened the meeting and established a quorum present.  Selectmen present:  Ben Astbury, Nelson Grindal.  Also present:  Victor Smith, Bob and Barbara Comerford, Jim and Dorothy Carey, John Mastbeth, Charlie Wiggins, Tax Collector Belinda Rooney, Treasurer Cindy Reilly, Assistant Barbara Grindle.

 

Read and approved the minutes of the last meeting.

 

Reviewed and signed the treasurer’s warrant for $125,593.48; transfer quarterly payment of $25,831, annual county tax $94,411.99, mowing the sides of the town roads $1,600, and the annual donation to Downeast Transportation $350.

 

PUBLIC BUSINESS:  Bob Comerford and Jim Carey asked to see the plan for the septic system at Strong Brewing Company’s site.  Carey also provided a list of questions for the planning board meeting on September 8.  Grindal updated them regarding the plumbing inspector’s continuing investigation into the plumbing and septic issues.  They were encouraged to call the state and make their complaints known to the proper departments. Discussed the road and parking issues as well.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Town Dock Grant:  Grindal is working on researching the possibility of using grant funds for another potential project.

Rope Ferry Road:  Still no recommendation from the town attorney.  See public business section.

Walker Pond:  Letter from Val Libby regarding dogs swimming at the pond.  Voted 2-0 to take the letter to the Walker Pond Committee meeting at Brooksville.

Salt/Sand:  Received a letter from HCPC regarding road salt.  Will discuss next week.

Hearse House:  Grindal will check on the shingles and repairs needed  at the Hearse House.

 

Assistant still checking deeds on the Rope Ferry access.

 

CEO REPORT:  CEO not present.

 

ADJOURN:  There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to adjourn the meeting at 6:37 pm.
