Selectmen’s Meeting
October 11, 2007

present: Chairman – Nelson Grindal, Bill
Jagger and Tom O'Connor.
Other
participants: Road Commissioner Paul
Carter, Selectmen’s assistant Barbara Grindle and Clerk/Treasurer Cindy Reilly.
- Approved the minutes of the October
9, 2007
selectmen’s meeting.
- Selectmen and the road commissioner
discussed the best course of action to replace the bridge on Carter Point Rd.
If the road panel’s can be delivered early next week the road will
be closed from October 19 through the 26th to facilitate
replacing the deck of the bridge.
Notice will be placed in the Weekly Packet advising residents of
the closure dates.
- Approved the treasurer’s warrant (#15) in
the amount of $28,135.28. Also on
the warrant was authorization the invest $300,000 in various short and mid
term certificates of deposits.
- Selectmen after conferring with the road
commissioner voted 3 to 0 to move forward with the purchase of a plow/sand
truck for the town. At this point
in time neither the selectmen nor the road commissioner have been able to
identify a person willing and able to plow approximately 18 miles of town
roads. The reaming roads will be
plowed by RL Cousins & Sons, as last year. Mr. Cousins was unable to take on the
additional roads. Selectmen have
identified several trucks with plow gear that are for sale. A decision will be made as to which
truck best fits the needs of the town.
The
meeting was adjourned at 8:45PM.
